The Project Goal is to contribute to increasing the safety of young girls in high schools and faculties in Serbia from sexual and gender-based violence.


Trough the project we aim to:

  1. Raise the level of knowledge and awareness of young people and influence their attitudes regarding sexual and gender-based violence;
  2. Motivate young people to engage actively in prevention of sexual and gender based violence in their local communities;
  3. Improve institutional responce in prevention and protection in high schools and faculties.

The project is implemented in high schools and relevant faculties in 15 towns in Serbia in cooperation with women's civil society organizations dealing with violence against women. The main groups of activities include:

  1. Peer workshops for young people - high school and faculty students to recognize sexual and gender based violence, to respond to it and to actively engage in prevention in their schools, cities, local communities or within local civil society organizations.
  2. The involvement of young people in prevention through awareness raising campaigns on sexual and gender-based violence.
  3. Education of high school teachers and members of school teams for protection of children from violence to recognize, respond to violence and to include activities on gender-based violence in school plans, the content of school subjects, school curricula.
  4. Development of internal policies on sexual harassment at faculties.
  5. Spreading of good practices in the institutional response to gender-based violence.
