Autonomous Women's Center in 2008 and 2009. continued with the implementation of the project "Let's bond the community - encouraging the activities of local governments, public agencies and non-governmental organizations in building a model of coordinated action in the field of domestic violence."
The project aims to establish a sustainable integrated model of prevention and protection from domestic violence in at least 5 municipalities in Serbia as well as the integration of local models in relevant national policies and future strategies for prevention and protection from domestic violence. Execution of the project was supported by the Embassy of Finland, UNDP and BTD (Balkan Trust for Democracy).
Collaborators on the project activities arelocal governments and social welfare centers in 4 Belgrade city municipalities - Lazarevac, Palilula, Zvezdara, Vozdovac, and 4 municipalities in Serbia - Kragujevac, Loznica, Cuprija and Smederevska Palanka.
The project activities will be implemented during 2008 and 2009 and will include:
A. Activities aimed at increasing knowledge of employees in the relevant institutions (centers for social welfare, police, health services and the judicial system) on violence against women
B. Activities aimed at linking institutions and developing their independent, continuous coordination in the prevention and protection from domestic violence
C. Activities aimed at integrating the model into local policy of prevention and protection against domestic violence
D. Activities of lobbying for the adoption of national strategies and the integration of local models of prevention and protection from domestic violence in relevant national policies
