The main objective of the project is to contribute to the implementation of the National Youth Strategy (strategic objective - the development of civil society by supporting youth voluntarism and activism) and the National Strategy for preventing and combating violence against women in the family and partner relationships (strategic objective of prevention - establishing a system of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention).
The specific objectives of the project:
- Developing the capacity and motivation of young people in 10 municipalities in Serbia to be agents of positive change in the field of gender-based violence and discrimination in their local communities.
- Developing the capacity and motivation of relevant institutions in 5 (10) cities to identify the consequences of violence against women and children and more effective protection of women and children victims of violence.
Expected results:
- Strengthened capacities of young people to understand and confront gender-based violence and gender stereotypes, develop tolerance and equality and create a safe environment for themselves and their peers through action.
- Developed capacities of professionals to improve practices and effective protection of women and children victims of violence.
- Raised level of public awareness of violence against women and children in local communities.
The main groups of activities:
- Training for peer trainers
- Peer workshops for young people in 10 cities on the local level
- Implementation of the action plans for the participants of peer workshops in local communities
- Monitoring the implementation of action plans in local communities
- Education of professionals in 5 (10) cities.
