grevio 2025The GREVIO Committee, as a supervisory body of the Council of Europe that monitors the implementation and harmonization of policies and laws with the provisions of the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention), has published its second, and first Thematic Report on the implementation of the Convention in Serbia.

The GREVIO Committee largely accepted the allegations and data submitted by women's organizations in Serbia, confirming that, despite all the legal improvements, the State of Serbia does not monitor how and in what way the laws are applied, and that it has not established a system for monitoring data on cases of all forms of violence against women covered by the convention, as well as that it has not provided adequate, stable and long-term financial resources for the implementation of laws and policies aimed at preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence and providing specialist services rendered by civil society organizations that deal with women's rights.
